  • Project Impact. Route 2 is a state highway in Connecticut and is 58.03 miles (93.39 km) in length. It is a primary state route(15). It carries approximately 67,000 vehicles per day. The project address the bridges' current structural deficiencies, upgrade their capacity, meet current seismic criteria, improve safety, protect the environment and reduce annual maintenance costs(16).
  • Features & Design Context.  Working directly with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the imagery evokes both a cultural identification and an important ideology: “Hold on to the land.” As travelers approach the Mashantucket Bridges, they will see the beautiful concrete forms of trees, flying geese, water, and skyscapes that begin on the wing walls and continue along the bridge abutments.
  • Techniques & Requirements.
    • All custom form liner patterns were handcrafted to the project’s exact specifications and every detail carefully molded to articulate all shadows and reveals.
    • The form liners for this project, and form liners for every project, undergo very strenuous quality control guidelines to guarantee the production of the highest-quality product on the market.
