Federal, state and local officials gathered on the Lindsey Street bridge for its official dedication, and the unveiling of Steven Weitzman‘s Seed Sower art panel on Friday, October 27, 2017. The Lindsey Street Bridge opened to traffic in July and represents the most recently completed overpass in the largest construction project on the largest contract awarded by the Oklahoma Transportation Commission in Oklahoma’s history.
Among the attendees of this ceremonial unveiling were Governor Mary Fallin, Norman Mayor Lynne Miller, Norman Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Scott Martin, the current Secretary of Transportation and ODOT Executive Director Mike Patterson, Oklahoma University President David Boren, and Former Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley. “This gives Norman a unique identity as the home of the University of Oklahoma,” Republic Bank and Trust President and CEO Chuck Thompson said on the image of the Seed Sower, intended to represent the spread of knowledge across the state. -The Norman Transcript
