This urban environment incorporates mosaic, FOTERA^® concrete, and engraved bricks into two miles of sidewalk connecting the Largo Town Center and the Morgan Boulevard Metro stations. 30 FOTERA^® concrete icons symbolic of Maryland are set into the sidewalk. Brick pavers engraved with poetry, quotations and factual references spiral out from each icon. As commuters move between the metro stations, they read the passages, view the colorful icons, and learn about the locale.

Two mosaic walls, one that highlights the local historic figure Garrett Morgan and one that includes a 20' compass rosette mosaic in front of it, complete the design. The mosaic portion of this project was fabricated by Cheryl Foster.
