This FOTERA® concrete mural will be installed into a planned water feature located in a newly designed central park in the historic Northeast District of Washington, DC. As commuters approach the H Street intersection, they briefly see the virbantly colored sections of this curved mural honoring Duke Ellington, Bessie Smith, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Rosa Parks. These important political and artistic figures were instrumental in transforming the social fabric of the nieghborhood, so when the water feature is activated, viewers are reminded that this historical mural is about change and renewal.
